The Ghana-Nigeria Achievers award which is in its 5th edition , was designed to celebrate Nigerians living in Ghana who has distinguished themselves in their Area of Specialization. This year in attendance were several great Nigerians living in Ghana including a representative of the Nigerian high commission. In a speech presented by Comrade Barry Edu, the CEO and founder of the scheme read and I quote “ This is a small number compared to Nigerians doing great things both in Ghana and other countries that is why we decided to showcase the good aspect as people concentrate more on the negative side of few Nigerians “.
Among this year’s winners are Mrs. E.A Arewa (Diplomat at the High Commission, for her role in restoring peace and ensuring good welfare for Nigerians in Ghana. The award was received Amina Bolujoko (Secretary to The Nigerian High Commission Ghana.
The House of Assembly Member representing Bonny West Constituency, Hon. Engr. Abinye Blessing Pepple For rural development achievements was also awrded. Destiny Austine Omon, C.E.O DMF Production won best Nigerian producer 2021, Madam Glory Ikponeonba, C.E.O Sista’s Bowl Calabar Kitchen. Chief Augustine Agbkotu, C.E.O Auslorm Real Estate Company LTD. Mrs. Carlos Adams, Prince Vikar ( Prince Vikar foundations ) all won Humanitarian and personality awards.
We also have awardees from the home country, The chief Imam Ghana His Eminence Sheikh Osman Nuhu, Sharabutu who sent in a Rep with a message of peace and religious tolerance. Asamoah Gyan, Anne Ethel Ama Komlaga BolaRay among others.
The awards were presented by Amb. Chief Oloye Fatuyi, Hon. Blessing and other dignitaries. The deputy Ambassador was represented by Secretary to the Nigerian High Commission Ghana.
The awardees were presented with medals and plaques. They were also inducted into the Nigerians in Ghana Achievers Hall of Fame.
